Love, Honour and SUBMIT

Love, Honour and SUBMIT

I have always been good with the love bit, honour is easier if he is perfect but submit made my stomach churn. You see to me a man was like me except I had a vagina. My sisters and I were the sons my dad never had.  He taught us how to be independent, ambitious women who had no need for a man except their father. My mum was the perfect example of the woman he wanted us to be except he couldn’t stay married to her very long.

She did it with such grace and eloquence that all who watched were mesmerised. She was the jewel in the room the one that filled all our hearts with awe.

Like so many of us dear reader I didn’t question my upbringing or its outcomes. The answer was to come way after I was married, and all my masculine training had failed to yield the desired effect in my marriage. On a visit to Zimbabwe I finally saw the splendour of submission and honour. You see dear reader there are somethings that cannot be taught they must be caught and in the African light of day I beheld the beauty of submitted wife in the form of my cousins wife as she knelt before her husband and guests to serve them. She did it with such grace and eloquence that all who watched were mesmerised. She was the jewel in the room the one that filled all our hearts with awe. How could this be? This “oppression” was supposed to be pitiful and pathetic but here was this queen, majestic and regal on her knees serving. I was yet to see the crown of humility look so enchanting. She enjoyed and relished being this woman. It was of her choosing and upbringing. She wore it with class and dignity.

Why did I envy her in this moment? Why did her poised and peaceful posture fill me with a deep sense of lostness? In that moment I knew that I saw a woman in her feminine energy and therefore in her dominion. Her humble disposition honoured her husband and in return he gave her the desires of her heart. The house she called a home was exquisite with a water fountain in the middle of an open space, the expensive décor and streams in her back garden left all breathless. There is nothing my cousin denied his queen and in return he spoke kindly, gently with reverence towards her.  This woman was wielding her power on her knees in a world where I had been taught to stand on my feet and lose. To the world he was the man, king in his castle but in truth this beautiful pearl was on the throne and her word was his command.

To the world he was the man, king in his castle but in truth this beautiful pearl was on the throne and her word was his command.

Its not that she was needy and uneducated. On the contrary, she is highly educated, with a lucrative business of her own. She can do bad all by herself but she was groomed for life as a queen like Sarah who called Abraham Lord and could order him to send his son away or Esther whose King was ready to give anything even half of his kingdom if she asked. Queens understand that giving a man the respect he earns and deserves is the gateway to his heart and throne. Women who can are women who are comfortable in their skin, with nothing to prove to themselves or the world. They are focused on what they want and are prepared to pay the price to get it. Don’t get it twisted these women were by no means doormats. Their kings were not stepping all over them neither did they dare.

when you decide to take your power back then make up your mind to kneel ONLY before a king and no one less.

Feminine energy is power when it’s in submission. Feminism emancipated women from many forms of slavery but taught us to deny our feminine power as weakness and that’s when the battle was lost. Vashti was the first feminist and she lost her throne. Even the harlot Delilah can teach us a thing or two. She gave Samson a place to rest his head and cost him his destiny. Eve from her feminine got Adam to disobey a direct order from God. Such power belongs only to a woman in her feminine. It is   immeasurable but can only be unlocked by humility and contriteness in the presence of her King.

Make of it what you will. The rules where in place before we were. You can spend your whole life fighting them and losing or try to understand them, embrace them, harness them and win. Here is the key: when you decide to take your power back then make up your mind to kneel ONLY before a king and no one less.
